I am fixing an older laptop just for internet usage and I have no idea what kind of card or if I can even find one for this computer. It has this card type available:One (1) Type II or one (1) Type III PC Card slot with support for 32-bit CardBus. I am thinking it's different that pcmcia, but not positive. I really don't know much about older laptops. It is a COMPAQ 1200-XL118. If you can help me find a site or an avg. price I would greatly appreiciate it.

The laptop has (1) 1.1 usb port. I'm not sure how much bandwith I'll get out of that old usb port. Will a PC Card with 32 bit cardbus 10/100 card work? I have found them for about 30 bucks.

If the laptop has USB ports the easiest way is to go with a USB NIC because they are easy to install, cheap and easy to get, because if it has the older type expansion slot you wil not be able to get cards for it.
