Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
In fact he's probably the only Art Deco artist many people in the "real world" have heard of.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh is without doubt the best known throughout the world. His designs were used in furniture and household items, fabrics and even houses such as The Hillhouse in Helensburgh

For me, it has to be Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972). Although some may not regard his work as 'ART DECO' in style terms, his work dates from that period and, in my view, deserves inclusion. An absolute genius.
