Install iTunes from the disc provided OR if one isnt provided download it from here ( http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ).

Once installed, open iTunes and you can either let it automatically find all your music OR you can go to 'File' > 'Add File to Library' OR 'Add Folder to library'.

Then plug in your iPod using te USB cable - you may be asked to name it. It will then sync the songs (ie the songs will go on the iPod) - be sure to eject it before you unplug it.

***THIS IS ADDITIONAL INFO***
You can also add your CDs by opening iTunes and inserting the CD into your laptop. iTunes will open the CD and you can choose to import it. You can either name the tracks or iTunes will find it automatically.

If you 'uncheck' (untick the blue tick box) a song in your iTunes library, the next time you update your iPod, it will be taken off the iPod BUT it can still be played on the laptop.

you need to download itunes (free) from apple's website. I recently bought a nano, and you're instructed to do this in the leaflet, because there's no CD for it. Connect your ipod and then it'll do all the work for you. It's then a case of learning how to organise your songs as you like them - something itunes isn't very good at making easy.
As for downloads - you can purchase tracks from the apple store linked in with itunes, or import downloads from other sources by selecting 'import file' in the file menu at the top. Enjoy.

First you need to put the iTunes programme (free from Apple) on your computer. You then need to add music to your 'Library' by buying and/or ripping your cd's. Then connect your ipod and downloading will begin!

You'll need to install the software on the CD that came with it. Then once it's installed, open up iTunes and drag you music to it (use ctrl+a)
