I was telling a male friend of mine about a date I had last week. He told me 'You don't have to expalin yourself to me' 'I don't mind if you do though'
What do you think he means by that?!

What he means is that you don't have to go into detail if you don't want to, but he would'nt mind if you did. He is giving you the option to talk about your date with him he is giving you that option.

since you were telling him of a date I'd assume he took it you (he) would like to have gone on it and it was a way of saying he'd like to take you out.

He wants you to know he is enjoying you telling him this info but wants you to understand you don;t have to if your uncomfortable
