What is the correct nickname for a skateboard?

I think the nickname is (or used to be) "Decks", my daughter believes they are called "sticks". Any views on this?

My son, who skateboards, says that the board is called a deck, the whole skateboard is called a complete. He says that he doesn't know of any nicknames. Some boards are called by their brand name, like "blank" "birdhouse" or "flip". There r many names like that. Haven't heard of stick tho.

I can answer that. I have been a skate shop owner for 12 years.
Your both right. I have heard guys refer to thier skateboards which are generally made of wood as.... my board, my deck, my stick. Although I haven't heard stick too often, although it could be used more prominently where you are from.

i would generally call them skatboards but some people call them decks or boards
i personally have never heard of anyone calling a skateboard a 'stick' 'birdhouse' or any of the other names i have seen here, and i live in the skateborading captial of my country, althoughn i dont skateboard so.... that may be why i havent heard of any of these names

its called a deck but again it depends on that persons "slang" term and the area where they live i used to be sponsored by dog town when i skated badlands with micky alba we would say our tweak stick but lance mountain another skater called it his budha
