I keep trying to get firefox for my browser but no matter how many times i download it it just doesn't appear. can anyone help, please ?

Once you download it, you have to install it. Then it will appear in your Start menu.

Flower ... I guess I misunderstood your question. It sounded like you were trying to get Firefox FOR your browser. But Firefox IS a browser.
Have you gone to a good site from which to download it? Try the link I provided below. When you begin the download, make sure you note where you've stored it. Saving it to your desktop might be the most convenient place. Once the download is complete, just double-click the icon for it and the installer for Firefox should launch.
I think you'll like it. It has a spell-checker included with it too. Good luck, Flower.

Doesn't appear meaning the downloaded file cannot be found?
Download it and save it to your desktop. Then double click on the installer to run it.

download from here http://www.mozilla-europe.org/nl/products/firefox/ . But before you do go to your add/remove programs and see if mozilla is installed. if it is then you need to find it, look in my computer c:drive program files, open from there and install. If all this fails then just go to the link i gave earlier

First go into control panel see if the icon is there if it is somethings blocking if not it havent downloaded popularly

once downloaded the install icon will show with your other start icons.Just double click and install.Don't
forget to click English.
