Please note that the following operation require a certain level of pc knowledge, if not sure, dont try it or your system might end up failure to bootup.
To remove the dual boot menu and make pc boot straight to D:\
1. go to my computer, properties, advanced tab, startup and recovery, settings button, system startup, edit button
2. go to file, save as..., save 1 copy other than in D:\ as backup
3. under [operating system], remove 1 whole line contain "Windows", leave the "Window xp pro" line
4. make sure the partition # in defualt match the os line as following, dont change the number if it is 2 instead of 1 as below
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Pro Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
5. in case something wrong, use the backup file
6. when done, go to file, save and close all windows, reboot to finish
To remove a partition and expand the left behind, use commercial software like partition magic, symantec ghost cause your pc probably have ntfs, there is no simple and free solution to that.

Use 3rd party software like Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director. I prefer Disk director because it is easy in use and has a friendly interface. Disk Director can resize, move, copy, split, and merge partitions without losing your data. Follow the link for more information:

use disk director, merge partitions and then just delete the folder with the windows which you don't need.
