Go to court and state your case. For that amount, its likely to be in small claims court anyway, and you really should be able to represent yourself there without too many issues. The worst that can happen is that the court will rule against you and tell you to pay the $2000 + some rate of interest. So you dont come out any worse off than if you just send them $$ right now. Of course, you can always try calling them and see if they will take an offer of something less, but you need to do that ASAP, before you head into court.

If you owe the money, pay it if you can. If you owe it, but cannot pay it, then you need to let them know this and ask what kind of payment plan you can work out. Get a reputable credit councilor to negotiate this, need be. Do NOT go to court is you owe the money.

If you don't owe the money, then you can either give in or fight. If you want to fight, find out what you options are regarding arbitration vs. court. While arbitration may not be the option for you, it could be.

Get a lawyer, but be aware that it'll cost you more than $2000 to defend yourself.

At least I assume you mean $2000. If it's really "$2000k" (that's $2,000,000!) then you REALLY need a lawyer, badly.

I think you left out some minor info, as to why are you being sued. Banks don't sue just to do it. Surely you have defaulted on something. If you can't make a payment don't try to hide from them. It only hurts you in the end. If you are having credit problems you need to seek credit counseling and they will work out a plan that is within your budget. Once you do this though keep in mind, you can not have any kind of credit cards until it is all paid back or you will be in default and once again be liable for all monies owed to your creditors

Pay it. You can't afford to go up again Chase bank over $2000. They put millions into their legal team. Pay your bills next time.

If you owe the money, pay up. If you owe it and don't pay, you'll end up with court costs and collection fees on top of what you owe.

Learn never to borrow money you can't easily repay.

Well, it depends on what you are getting sued for, maybe call a lawyer and tell your case and see if it is worth fighting for.

Pay it. It is your bill and you owe it. Don't even try to go head to head with Chase - they have more money and lawyers than god.
