I know you americans have added a bit of color to some of your money, "finally", but it's no comparison to the amount of color we have in our currency. I've always wondered if you americans admired our money, for it's color and distinctiveness, and do you think your country should do the same? We also have $1 and $2 dollar coins, and were eventually getting a $5 dollar coin, would this bother you?

I do like the Canadian designs! I was last there a few years ago, and I know the Canadians laugh at us for not having a dollar coin. The US Mint is trying one again, just today, but they never catch on:

We do have $2 bills but you almost never see them. A dollar bill is handy, and I'm worried about how heavy a coin would be. Metal lasts a lot longer than Paper, I agree. (Actually, I think US bills are 50% cotton and 50% linen, or something like that.) Metal lasts for 30 years or more; paper for 18 months.

But the Canadian designs are nice.

I've collected coins for a long time. Currency is too expensive to collect!

PS Vending machines are VERY intracate in their workings, to detect the different sizes weights, magnetic properties, etc. More trivia!

Your money is fine - some of the color I like.

I only wish your coins would work in our vending machines - we get so many of them that it is frustrating to find that I am trying to use a Canadian coin without realizing it.

yes it would bother me. IMO our new money looks like play money, and i wish they'd stuck with the old money.

we've tried repeatedly to use $1 coins, and it hasn't ever worked so far.

i have never seen Canadian money, unless you could the coins i sometimes get and can't get rid of to save my soul. nobody will take them, and machines won't either even though they're about the same size as our nickels. LOL

Personally, I wouldn't want to carry coins, they're too heavy and a pain in the rear when you work at a cash register. I do like the colorful bills tho - I don't like how ours in America is all one color.

I think it looks fine, but it should be more realistic, for example, the people on the coins should be wearing canadian tuxedos (jean jackets) and be sporting mullets, ey? But as long as I have enough, I dont care what it looks like.

Why would it bother us? It's your money.. I really don't care.

Now if our government was wasting money making more coins, then I'd be a bit bothered. Physical money is a thing of the past.
