Hello - I will be visiting Budapest in a few months. What is the best way to get from the airport to a hotel downtown ? I heard taxi's can be very expensive.

Right now you have two options (I wouldn't take the bus with all the suitcases...):
- AirportShuttle is a minivan service, they take 5-6 people at a time and if you travel alone, probably it's a little cheaper than taxi.

-Taxi: it can be expensive IF you let the driver cheat on you. But you don't have to! Here is what you should do:
- Look for the printed chart with the prices in the cab. You'll see that there is a FLAT RATE (3500-4500huf?) from the airport to downtown. Don't let him to use the meter, ask for the fix price.
- In general: if you are worried, tell the driver that you need a receipt! They have to give it to you if you ask for it! (the driver's contact info with the amount is on it, so they won't charge you extra).

but you can ask someone at the info desk at the airport. They'll help you! As there were many problems with the taxis recently, the authorities are keeping eye on them. So don't worry.

Budapest is frequently explained because the "Little Paris of Middle Europe" and if you wish to see that city you need to take a peek with hotelbye . Budapest is popular not merely for the monuments highlighting its 1,000-year-old lifestyle, but also for the relics of other people who settled here. Stays from both Roman occupation and significantly later ruled by the Turks may still be viewed in the city. Budapest has two factors, Buda and Pest, extending across the banks of the Danube, and they are addressing two different heroes of the city. Suburban Buda and their historic fort region provide old streets and properties, museums, caves and Roman ruins. The dynamic Pest part boasts the biggest parliament developing in Europe, riverside promenades, flea markets, bookstores, old-fashioned shops and café houses.
