I just went through the questions and answers on this forum and read someone saying that prenatal pills helped her get pregnant. How is this possible? I thought you only take them to prevent your baby from having birth defects. What other advantages are there to taking prenatal pills while conceiving? My symptoms: period is 4 days late, light cramping on my left and right side, and some faint pink spotting that went away yesterday. I've been charting my ovulation as well, this is day 35 of my cycle. I made sure to have sex during all my possible ovulation days. What do you guys think?

if you're actively trying to get pregnant there is always the excellent chance that you are.

prenatals dont make you get pregnant, they simply provide a 'store' of the vitamins, acids, and minerals your body needs to make itself the best environment for a growing embryo, and to provide the best it cant for it.

You use the most folic acid before you get pregnant and before you know you're pregnant, as the embryo uses the highest amount in the first 6-8 weeks as the spinal column and brain are formed. After that what you get in your daily diet and fortified cereals is sufficient.

If you are 4 days late i would take a HPT. The HCG should be high enough to test positive by now. As for prenatal vitamins... if you are not on them already I would get on them asap. You can buy them over the counter...Spring Valley had a good one that you can buy at Wal Mart pretty cheap. Your body and the baby need the folic acid for production. Good Luck!!

You really need a lot of folic acid to help with conception and development. The prenatal horse pills made my wife sick, so she took Flintstone kids vitamins and used a folate/folic acid supplement. I suggest you try that route. If the period is late, try a pregnancy test.

I don't think that prenatal pills help to concieve, however, there are benefits to start taking them before conception. They are a good source of vitamins and minerals for you, not just the baby.

Prenatal vitamins might help you concieve because if you take folic acid supplements, it helps your uterus become a safe environment and could help implantation if you are trying to get pregnant. I learned that in my parenting class, so it is possible that they could help, and they say that it is good to start taking folic acid before you are pregnant (if you are trying to get pregnant!)

Good luck getting pregnant :)

folic acid, not prenatal pills, the vitamins just help your baby grow and be healthy.
