Okay, the problem I am having is my sound is going to crazy on my computer, my screen "glitches" occasionally and my computer is running slower then normal. I have Norton 2007 and have done virus scans and everything comes out clean. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? I am in Iraq (Army) and want to try to fix it instead of sending it back to the states, thanks.

Hi. It would be unusual for a CPU to go bad slowly. Usually they just fail. Are you sure it's not another component? Hard drive or RAM maybe? If you do get a new processor it will only fit in the same socket that you already have, like Socket A for instance.

Look up the model on the manufacturer's web site.
