i had my child feb 7.she was only 20 weeks. how long should i wait to have another child? what are the chances of me having another premature birth?!?

First of all talk to your Dr BEFORE getting pregnant again! There may be a higher chance of having a premature baby again.
You always want to put at least 1 year between pregnancies so your body can heal. Pregnancy is hard on you. My youngest daughter was born at 30 weeks. My Dr told me to wait 3 years. And then we may have an early baby again. I lost a baby girl born at 2 days shy of 20 weeks and got pregnant again VERY soon, the next month, didn't know that I should have waited. I would wait maybe 6months to a year befor trying to have another or until you have at least three regular cycles..My mother had four children and i was the second born and 3 months premature, all the others were full term...my sister was first born and my mother had me the day befor my sister turned 1 I don't know if that was the reason why i was premature but i'm just trying to give you a little bit of how it was when my mother had us because she had me and my sister so close together...

I would wait atleast two years because you want to let your body heal. I dont know why you had a premature baby but there is a chance that you could have another one that is premature.

i know how you feel i had a little girl at 23 weeks .i was just 16 and my body just was not ready .she did pass away. it took me 2 years to even get pregnant again. give your self at least a couple of months .have a couple of periods. not to sound all religious but it's on gods time anyway. i had a little girl 2 years latter at 37 weeks and a little boy when she was 21 months . e mail me if you can

You should consult your doc about when to start trying for another child. But I would think that you need to allow your body time to recouperate before trying for another child. Goodluck.

It really depends on your medical situation
I do not know if you had a placenta problem, a incompetent (sp) uterus, or a variety of other reasons
If this just happened just because it may not even happen again
I would ask a DOC
