I support the men and women in our military. They put their lives on the line, doing as they agreed to do when they joined the military. Their promise to protect America also asks them to follow orders from their commander. I admire and respect them for what they do.

However, I disagree with the war and want the administration that continues to send our troops to fight this war voted out. Hopefully the American people will do that in the next election.

Absolutely not. The last thing we want is death and violence in Iraq or anywhere else. Our troops are put into that mess not of their own choosing. They are putting their lives on the line for O I L. We can support them with our love and our prayers without supporting the reason they are there or who sent them there. Whether they come home safe, wounded, or in a body bag they need to come home. We only pray it isn't the last two.

It is like a police officer or a fire fighter, they put their lives on the line for us. We don't have to support the arsonist or any criminal that puts them in that position but we can pray for them and thank God that they are there for us. Same for military not just in the Middle East mess but everywhere.

You can believe anything you want, However, just because you believe in something does not mean it's right. Try to keep in mind that NOBODY wants to be there, but we are, so why don't we all give our troops the support they deserve. And pray they come home soon.

No, I don't think so. Any more than not supporting the war means not supporting the troops.

We need to respect those people who have enlisted in the military, and are willing to give their lives to protect their country. We may not agree with the war they are engaged in, but we must realize that they didn't make the decision to go to war in the first place...they are following orders. It is honoring the commitment they made to their country when they enlisted.

No, it means you support the effort the troops are doing to bring democracy and freedom to Iraq after deposing Sodom Hussien. It means that you actively support and push for victory, not encouraging those who declare themselves our enemy. It means Saying and doing things that give comfort and encouragement to our soldiers, instead of giving that comfort and encouragement to our enemies. You can't support both our soldiers and our enemies. So I guess that you'll have to ask whether your actions will support our troops or our enemies.

Only if supporting our troops in WWII meant supporting death and violence all across large portions of Europe, Asia and Africa.

Semantics and word games get us nowhere.

I think you can celebrate the warrior without celebrating the war. The number of American service people being killed and maimed in Iraq is obscene. The best way we can support our troops is to bring them home.

NO!!! It means standing behind the very military that puts their lives in jeopardy every day so you can enjoy your freedoms, freedom of speech. Have you served this country? Ever put your life on the line so others can live a better one? If not then think again about demeaning the sacrifices our military makes for your freedom! God Bless out Military!

The sooner people realize you can support the troops and disapprove of the war and the leaders of the war the better this country will be.

That pretty much covers it Tom, you should see the new released documentaries from Frontline and Nova (PBS.COM) over the Iraq war. The Republicans wont agree though, but it is documented from the last 4 years.

Oh no! When one speaks of supporting our troops, they are referring to the medics and clergy.
