my husbands been complaining about some cramping or thumping sensation with his testicles. is this something to worry about?

He may have prostate cancer. My dad does and when he found out, it was too late. He was paralyzed from the armpits down. The doctor gave him three months to live, but it has been four years now and he has had lots of therapy to help walk again, but mainly he uses his wheelchair.
