I had an intercourse a month back, which we felt was safe, but it has been more than a month now that i am not having my peroids and i am getting nauseous feeling. I want some pill to avoid this. Just wanted to know whether eating raw papaya can help me avoid this "doubtful" pregnancy?

The primary use of the papaya is as an edible fruit. It is usually eaten raw, without the skin or seeds. The unripe green fruit of papaya can be eaten cooked usually in curries, salads and stews.

Papaya is rich in an enzyme called papain (a protease which is useful in tenderizing meat) and other proteins. Its utility is in breaking down the tough meat fibers and it has been utilized for thousands of years in its native South America. It is included as a component in powdered meat tenderizers. The papaya enzyme, papain, is also marketed in tablet form to remedy digestive problems.

Papain is also popular (in countries where it grows) as a topical application in the treatment of cuts, rashes, stings and burns. Papain ointment is commonly made by fermented papaya flesh, and applied as a gel-like paste.

Caution should be taken when harvesting, as papaya is known to release a latex fluid when not quite ripe, which can cause irritation and provoke allergic reaction in some people. The papaya fruit and leaves also contains carpaine, an anthelmintic alkaloid which could be dangerous in high doses.

Women in Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka and other parts of the world have long used papaya as a folk remedy for contraception and abortion. Medical research in animals has confirmed the contraceptive and abortifacient capability of papaya, and also found that papaya seeds have contraceptive effects in adult male langur monkeys, possibly in adult male humans as well.Unripe papaya is especially effective, in large amounts or high doses. Papaya is not teratogenic and will not cause miscarriage in small, ripe amounts. Phytochemicals in papaya may suppress the effects of progesterone.

Please do a Home pregnancy test before doing anything. No need of eating a lot of papaya if you are really matured to deliver.Just think about a smiling face calling you mom...mom....!!

Some people believe that eating raw papaya in large quantities will induce a miscarriage but this is only believed to be true in the first couple of weeks of pregnancy (ie you're too far along for this wives tale to work). I'm sorry. A pregnancy test would definitely be accurate by now. So, go buy one and it should let you know for sure. There are many reasons that people miss periods (especially since protection was apparently used?) so buy a test to find out. Either result go to a doctor - positive to see how far along you are ,etc. and negative to see what is wrong that is keeping them away.

Eating papaya would give you Vitamin A and fibre, but would not stop the fertilized egg from growing! Get a "PregColor Card" or any other pregnancy testing kit from a medical store for INR 50 and do the test in the privacy of your home.

If you are pregnant, dont even think of popping in on-the-counter drugs/pills as they might be fatal or cause an irreparable damage to your reproductive system. Consult your doctor for a customized prescription.

It seems you had a similar problem several months ago. Perhaps your cycles just run longer. You hadn't had a period in 40 days the last time you thought you were pregnant. Confirm a pregnancy with a test first, then see a doctor. I've never heard of papaya causing a spontaneous abortion. Best of luck.

Papaya can help in expelling your stools.......... if you are constipated.
But papaya normally does not expel your foetus.
Be practical.
Some people claim that eating 100-200 papaya in a single week has led to miscarriage.
You can try that.
But do not think that by eating 2-3 papayas you will terminate the pregnancy.

And oh, yes, not raw papaya........ but ripe papaya.

that's one i've never heard. go to the doc or pee on a stick to see if you're really pregnant. if you don't want a baby, you have an ever smaller window in which to terminate the pregnancy. don't use foolish folk remedys and end up bleeding to death or making yourself sterile. i don't think, if you are pregnant, there's any pill you can just take, unless they've come up with something new in the last week. it's called the "day after pill" for a reason. whether it's a false alarm or not, the pill you want to be taking is the one that prevents pregnancy to begin with. please don't try anything foolish and end up hurting yourself.

First, go and get a test. Seriously, you don't want to mess around with this. Get a drugstore one first and then if you're still worried, clinics will give you a cheap or free blood test. (Local hospital or planned parenthood.)

If you're just late (and being stressed won't help), the thing to do is to drink tea made out of fresh parsley. You just boil some water and pour it over a big handful of parsley, cover it and let it sit for about ten minutes. Then drink it. It's not the best, but it totally helps bring on your period.

Have you even taken a pregnancy test yet? That could tell you better than we can. And, if papaya worked, all women with unwanted pregnancies would be eating. Seriously, you sound too young to be even having sex.
