Ok, i'm going to this AFI rock concert in April, and my mum says she's gonna stay and watch over us to check me and my friends are ok!!
I REALLY DONT WANT HER TOO! Is there any lie i could tell or anyway to get her just to drop us off and not come in?

Oh and I'm only 14, so r my mates, and if we're under 16, we gotta be with someone older! BUT NOT MY PARENTS! I feel embarrassed with my mum watching me rock! lol

No......does she already have a ticket? If not, maybe it will sell-out and then you're set! You'll have to find another "older" person that you are comfortable with....

I know where you're coming from with this; isn't there a big bro/sis somewhere among your mates you can talk into going?
She's going to have to get a ticket if she wants to hang around you and your mates, there's no point lying, she'll just not trust you in future if you do.
It seems terrible now i bet, but v soon if this goes well, she'll trust you and your friends to go unaccompanied. Just think, she could have come down all heavy and not let you go at all; some mum's are like that, i know mine would have been.
I've been to a few gigs lately and there have been people of all ages at them, honest! (kids under 10 at Kasabian (with parents) a woman about 70 at Basement Jaxx and all shades of life (and degrees of grey hair and baldyness as well as young kids at a Muse gig). Don't feel too self conscious if she does end up going, I'm sure you won't stick out too much and there will be others with parents lurking around too.
Hope you have a great time whatever happens. x

I wouldn't tell a lie, even though it seems like a good idea, you never know what may happen. Do you or your friends have an older brother/sister that could go with you instead? Or could she drop you there but then come back at the end of the gig to pick you up? You could tell your mum you would find it well embarrasing with her being there, but in a nice way. . .i know my mum was a bit gutted when i wanted her to stop coming places with me?

Be thankful that your mom loves you and cares. There are tons of kids in the world with parents that don't give a crap. Also be thankful that she is willing to go for you! She could be a bore and just say you can't go. Try to see if you can get someone older to take you that isn't your mom... a sibling, neighbor, cousin or maybe one of your parents younger co-workers? If not, be glad that she is willing to let you go at all. Think about what would happen if you lied and went with out her and something happened to you or one of your friends?? There are crazy people in the world and bad things can happen to young girls in public places. I always said I wouldn't think this way when I got older but, trust me the world is a dangerous place!

Have your mom come along, but tell her that she needs to keep her distance and stand alone in the back. Tell her you will find her then right when the show is over and then you all will leave together. That way your mom will feel safer than not letting you go alone, yet she won't be next to you as you get down and rock out.

See if one of your friends has and older brother or sister that would want to go, and they can maybe go with you or at least supervise you. Otherwise, you should just be glad that you can go, even if your mom has to watch you there. When I was 14, my mom probably never would've let me go to an AFI concert.
And the person just above me is right. ^^^ It's crazy, and maybe you'll be glad that your mom's there if anything happens or if you have trouble getting out and get lost or something.

See if your friends have an older brother or sister who your Mom can trust to take you. I agree with her by the way: you're too young to go to a concert by yourself. But if you could find someone that is young enough to not annoy you but old enough to be a suitable chaperone then it should be fine. Someone in their early twenties would be best;I don't think your Mom would trust anyone younger than 21.

ALRIGHT ANOTHER LIAR IS BLOOMING YOUNG IN LIFE. We are so lucky to be living in this world in this day and age it is in with Society. GOOD FOR YOU. It seems that you have found the meaning of life, LIE and get away with everything. Keep up the great work you are doing and you will go far in life. I am so proud of you, and I bet you are doing well in school also, right? I mean someone like you WOULD NEVER CHEAT on an Exam now would you?

What a cool mom you have to let you go to the concert at your age! Get over being embarrassed and be glad you get to go. Nobody is going to be looking to see who has a parent there, they'll be enjoying the concert. I'm sure your mom will stay out of your sight, but be glad you're not out of hers. Have fun!

If it's open air then tell her that you'll be on your feet all day and walking round looking at different stalls. If it's indoor then tell her it's seated and that there's no need to worry.
Depending how old you are you may not be able to get rid of her, but just ry assuring her that there are LOADS of security guards there and most people who go to gigs are friendly enough so you won't get into any trouble.
Good luck and enjoy the gig.

You should be grateful your mom cares. She is quite right to insist on going with you. You are still a child and you have no idea about the dangers at concerts. You are packed in like sardines and getting out afterwards can be a nightmare. You should take your mothers offer.
