Could global warming be the reason for extreme winter in US this year? Every year winter is getting colder and the summer is getting warmer. Seems like what Al Gore said in "The Inconvenient Truth" is true. If this goes on, all the ice bergs in the artic would be history and all land would be under water.. like in the movie "Waterworld". Is the government doing anything about this at all?

It is always the warmest it has ever been or the coldest it has ever been in certain locations around the globe everyday. People who get thier climate information from political hacks should really revisit thier thinking. If I want to find out why my back hurts I don't ask a politician, If I want to find out why my car won't start I don't seek advise from my congressman. Why would anyone give crediance to Gore on his views of the complexe nature of our climate, isn't he the same guy claiming a new ice age was comming in the 1970's. Waterworld was a movie not a scientific documentary, treat it as such. When the planet warms man will find a way to deal with it. Stop your guilt over having a first world standard of living and don't be so quick to hand over controll of your life to selfserving polititions who's only concern is thier own power

Where is it warming, though, and why is it not global???

I am in CA. When I first moved down here in October, 2003 it was 90 degrees out!

But in 2004, 2005, and 2006 I have not seen temps anywhere close to that since. It is getting colder, not warmer.

Global warming, my eye!

Al Gore is a failed politician who claims to have invented the internet. And Waterworld is a movie and a box-office flop.

I'm 54 yrs old and the weather around the Great Lakes has been like that always...a little more or less. Here in Calif. NOTHING has changed,it is the same as always.Today it is 74 degrees.
Al Gore is the biggest knucklehead walking. We are such a flea on the back of the Earth we can't change a thing even if we wanted to.

Among many discusions there is also one discussion that should be taken into account.
as a result of the 2004 earthquake in the indian ocean the earth was tilted 3 degrees north on its axis which means that the north pole has now changed

so for example seattle wa. is now where vancover bc is

this is one possable reason why we are experensing severe weather and colder weather in the southern regions of the us
