I need some foam or rubber sheet about 1/2" thick to put in the drawers of my tool box. I want to be able to cut around my tools and have them sit in the cut-outs in the foam.
Can anyone help?????? Been trying to find some for ages!!!
Cheers!

I use a non slip mat (very thin) and magnetic socket holders and wrench holders to keep things together. Thick foam pads are susceptible to damage from oil, grease and cleaners. It will be OK if you never use your tools and only show them off.

I tried foam in mine for a while. Just like someone said earlier it breaks down from chemicals very quickly. So i removed it and put some black trunk carpet I got at Pep Boys. It's thin enough to pad the drawer but not thick enough to do what you want to do with the foam. I glued it down with some contact cement to keep it in place and it can be pulled up and replaced when needed.

You can go to a discount store like Wal-mart and buy foam of any thickness. Fabric stores also have it. Or you can go to a medical supply store and buy a foam mattress pad that is shaped like egg shells that works great for storing things like tools. My husband used it.

You need to find an upholstery supplier - they stock it by the ton!

OR

Some markets sell the thin (1/2 inch thick) foam for chair padding
