He is impressive. His problem will be his pro abortion stance. he will lose a ton of votes from the Right.

Ronald Reagan was divorced, Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh... Being Republican does not mean you're against divorce.

Depends on what you think is important. You like the surge, so now you're happy with Rudy. Fine, vote for him.

I'm assuming you don't know or care about his positions on abortion, gay rights, gun control. Most conservatives would retch to know, making it an irony that if Rudy actually IS elected, liberals will have the last laugh while conservatives start griping and moaning about how Rudy has sold them out... when he will have done no such thing. Or, he may well pull a Romney and flip on every one of these issues.

Voters are idiots. Whatever your own motives and political positions, try to be a SMART voter. You like Rudy, fine, but PLEASE know why you like him.

[ADDED] Hey, "voiceofreason" - Expat is exactly right, the scale of Bush's debt is a matter of pure, objective fact, a matter of public record. Bush won't even deny it (though he tries to hide it). The state of the economy and the strength of the Dow don't mitigate the harm caused by debt of this scale. You must really hate this country.

I realize now that you're one of the idiots I'm talking about who has no idea who Rudy Guliani even is. Vote for him, it'll be hilarious when you realize, too late, that the person you voted for isn't the person you wanted.

Pat Robertson has not quite lost his mind, I don't think. Rather, he has showed his cards. He's become more transparent. While he makes a big fuss about preserving "traditional values" (which in particular refers to stopping abortion and gay marriage), and even going so far as to say that 9-11 was God's wrath against rampant pornography and homosexuality, he seemingly tosses all that out now by endorsing a pro-abortion, pro gay rights candidate (Giuliani). Nevermind that it completely negates Robertson's '04 endorsement of Bush for president because Bush would defend "traditional values". The reason that Robertson is endorsing Rudy now is that Giuliani is widely believed to be the GOP's best bet at taking the White House in '08. The bottom line is that seeing a Republican in power matters more to Robertson than preserving "traditional values."

Exactly..whenever anything is mentioned about Bush putting America in more debt than all other past presidents together, invading a country against the wishes of the rest of the world, destroying what is left of the environment..etc..etc...the Republicans all say.."Yeah, but Clinton got a ******** from Monica.." Now Rudy is their candidate?? Too delicious..

He was an instrumental figure in the days of 9/11. You had best learn about 9/11 before you vote for the guy who heard the building was coming down and that's why he wasn't in it.

As a matter of fact there were many people who had been warned about buildings coming down who otherwise would have been in buildings. Oklahoma City building for instance. And warned not to take flights on 9/11 and warned not to be in wtc 1,2 and 7. So then there is plenty of reason to ask responsible questions from our elected officials but will those questions be asked by the media?

No they will not. Many questions to be asked about many many things but it is humorous our noble media refuses to ask the important questions. Humorous to the point of tears.

NOPE!
Rudolph Giulliani, and at this point, nor will any other Republican, get a vote of mine.
Since the presidency of George Bush, the Republican party leads me to believe that they consist of hypocrites, liars, cowards and thieves.
Mayour Bloomberg in New York City seems to be o.k.

Lou needs a reality check. First, why should a man's personal life be a criterion for running for office. And second, If it did, Bill Clinton, a democrat is the poster child for infidelity and no morality.

I've been rooting for him from the beginning. I feel he is exactly what this country needs. he would be the perfect candidate to bring our politcal parties together. And with his leadership capabilities, he would be perfect for the realities that this country is dealing with today.

How can you get past him dumping his wife for his 'pretty young thing' mistress. Isn't that against Republican morals.
If you say this is ok for Rudy then why did you persecute Bill Clinton .
