NYU needs me to put a deposit down ($200) to secure my enrollment by tomorrow. Should I put the deposit down and then wait to hear back from the other schools? NYU is not my top choice, by the way.

Not sure why NYU wouldn't be a top choice - I would either contact the other schools and see what is holding them up. Otherwise - if your paying up for education anyway - what is a lousy $200.00 to you anyway.

Good Luck!!!

If it is close to your top choice you should put the deposit down. That way you have a place in the grad school. I would put it down because if you don't get into any other schools, you are screwed because NYU might not have space for you.

I also got accepted to NYU as a grad student and I recently submitted the deposit money. I'm also awaiting answer from other schools.

You shouldn't be pressured to pay any deposits to a school until April 1st. I would talk to someone to tell them that you are considering other schools and that you can't make a decision at this time.
