I think this is a stinky deal. This exact same approach was initiated by Bill Clinton in 1994 and we find ourselves with a nuclear Korean Penninsula today. My prediction is that North Korea will utilize the benefits of this deal until they drive their economy and people further towards the brink of destruction, at which time Kim Jong-Il will gear up his nuclear capabilities again to cut a better deal. It is the nature of the Korean culture. This will further embolden other rogue nations in the world to do the same thing. Why not there are no consequences ever??

The agreement reached says that North Korea will put its nuclear weapons programme into mothballs in exchange for fuel oil. I think that's a pretty good deal.

It shows that diplomacy rather than sabre rattling gets the results you want. It takes more time, but it gets there. Perhaps this approach should be considered with Iran - threatening them is just making them dig in.

Try reading: it's not nuclear fuel, it's oil. I hope the situation in Korea continues to progress positively, I applaud the efforts made so far and hope the actions follow through.
