The last time I checked, adultery and fornication have caused waaaaaay more problems for our society than gays have. Why don't you focus on the bigger problems: the vices of STRAIGHT people?

Lola fornication IS irresponsible, so you've demonstrated you either that you don't even know what it means, or are not aware of all the problems it's caused directly or indirectly for other people who aren't even involved in it. It ain't the 60s anymore honey.

What a strange question. Many people are against gay marriage Republicans and Democrats. The Clintons, Bill and Hillary, both think adultery is A-OK. They're Republicans? This is a belief issue that should be tied to the morality of society as a whole and not a political debate. If you are in favor of gay marriage then why stop there. What about bigamy or polygamy. This happens in other societies. Hey, the argument that that we were born gay can also be made by some pedophiles so should we also permit that. I do not see this as a stretch by a direct link to the fact that you are for alternative forms of marriage.

Honey, if we are not in the 60's why the gay people want to get married? This has to do with the "state", not with personal behaviors! The state always "supports" the behaviors that are "productive". Marriage is a way to help that and to promote that "behavior". All the other "behaviors" they do not need the "states" permission. Additionally the "state" doesn't want to intervene to any other "behavior". But, the gay communities they actually "invite" the "state" to intervene. Why? They want some short of permission? I don't get it!

And what about social security plans. Somebody told me that there could gay "marriages" by non gay man and woman, that they don't have any morality problems, in order to get their "husbands" pensions. What the "state" should do then? Should they put a camera, in every ones bedroom just to see if they are actual gay? Is that a proper "state" behavior? We complain about surveillance by our governments. Then we actually ask from our government, in order to fit unspeakable things as rules of the "state", to exercise control in things it shouldn't exercise anything! The "state" should not know what we are doing in private, and we should not ask from the "state" stupid things. That are the rules, in order to avoid new kind of problems without solving any of the previous ones!

First, gay marriage is probably an issue with people because they are homophobics. Second, Adultry and fornication is performed by straight and gay people alike. Especially fornication because gay marriage's are only acknowledges in a few states that I know of. Never cared to do the research. I doubt that gay unmarried people are not having sex at all. As far as focusing on bigger problem's such as straight people's vices, well I can only assume that you are in fact gay. Furthermore, It is not your right to judge and by saying you wish that they would stop judging homosexuals, but then in return judging back is quite ignorant.

I am a republican because I fit in the category. I choose to be a republican because I believe that I am much more conservative than liberal. I disagree with most liberals about most of their views because I believe that they stand for new age movements and wish to change allot of what is good and decent in the world. I believe that they want to change the world to a direction which is self destructive. I believe in having good morals and values which I don't really see with allot of liberal people. I don't hate gay people but I do hate what they do and try to change in the world. I wish that we could go back in time when people were respectful of others and people who chose to be gay, never talked about it. It's like a war that we are made to be in because people who believe that they are gay are being more increasingly angry because they believe themselves to be a new breed who deserves special rights because of their perversion. But this is a Politics & Government Q&A not a gay Q&A. So as far as government and politics is concerned, I think that gay marriage should never ever be allowed anywhere for any reason. There should be no abortions for any reasons, I believe that I stand for what is right in the world. So go ahead and tear this one apart because I know very liberal people will. I know that your hate and anger will just flair as soon as I submit this and your fingers will race to see who can beat me up the most.

My opinion is that homosexuality is a sin, therefore, I don't approve of gay marraige. As for adultery and fornication, they too are sins and I don't approve of them either.

Hey, people make mistakes. Just because a republican comits adultery doesn't mean that all republicans think it is alright.

I don't believe anyone thinks that adultery or fornication are ok - they just fall into it because "people" screw up - it has nothing to do with a political party. Clinton is not a republican. The republicans don't like gay marriage because they have a very conservative view.

It takes conservative and liberal views to keep things balanced.

Republicans are just loading on the crap. They could care less about "gay Marriage", Abortion, you, or the general American public. They always were and always will be about making personal fortunes on the backs of anybody. However they realized that they would not get alot of votes with the image of greedy old men carving up the land amongst themselves, cheating us peasants out of our land etc. Enter Pat Roberts and the gang and they campaign on family values that never go any where because they do not care...Mary.

Republicans are big on the anti-gay issue, because it is a non-issue to all but a small, politically impotent segment of our society. It's the equivalent of talking about Anna Nicole or Britney bald. Filler to prevent conversation about real issues of importance.

I think most of the gay marriage opponent are what we label as the "Christian Right". They would theoretically be opposed to adultery and fornication. I know you can point to hypocrisy, but it's easy to call others that when we all fall short of many standards. My point is that there isn't as much inconsistency as you propose. I agree that even if one doesn't approve of redefining marriage in its traditional definition, there are much more ills to focus on. I don't think it's helpful to polarize it as gay vs. straight though "the vices of STRAIGHT people". I know many conservatives who are gay and I know many fornicators who are liberal and heterosexual. Be careful not to overgeneralize, but good point on what we look at as "problems".

Generalizing way too much on here.

There are gay republicans as well as people in politics with gay children (ie. Vice President's daughter). There are also gay democrates in office.

As far as adultry, that's on both sides of the issue to. Reps & Dems, Straight & Gay. Bad choices are made everyday by everyone.

Just because they don't agree with the lifestyle doesn't mean that we are bad people. We just see things differently. Agree to disagree.

My opinion on the gay marriage issue? I don't agree with it. I don't feel that a gay couple should be "viewed" legally as my Husband and I. And why are they pushing this so much? Marriage is just a peace of paper unless you are religious. It's not like you get married and then all of these wonderful tax breaks happen, or you are set up for life financially or given a house......

Why does the gay community want the whole world to tell them that they are okay? That there isn't any reprocussions to their lifestyle? Why do these people need our blessing to do what they want? I'm straight, but I don't need anyone to pat me on the back and tell me I'm doing the right thing.

Maybe this is a case of low self esteem.......
