started, I began with the cranberry juice, water, apple cider vinegar, etc (health food cures). Now I just have a bloated feeling and a slight "urgency" feeling. Is this normal, considering the other symptoms and discomfort have all gone away? When will this feeling disappear and I'll be completely cured?
Thanks!

You are on the correct path, but add some garlic capsules and some orange juice and if all that fails; off to the doctor for antibiotics.

Cranactin (cranberry supplement) by Solaray is a great product. It really works well at clearing up a UTI. I have used it myself. Also, if you are drinking regular cranberry juice that you buy at your local grocer, you are probably feeding those little bacteria causing the infection. Unless you find a pure cranberry juice (not from concentrate) at a health food store that has absolutely no additives, you are drinking loads of sugar.
The urgency will last at least 3-5 days. If you want relief from that, just pick up some AZO at your local pharmacy. It will give you the relief you need until the supplements start ridding your bladder of unwanted bacteria.
Just drink lots of water along with pure cranberry juice, take a cranberry supplement like the one listed above, stay away from sugary drinks, and don't have sex until your symptoms decrease. Sometimes intercourse can cause UTIs or make them worse.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it hasn't gone away in four days, you really should just go to a doctor and get antibiotics. If you're trying to get it to clear up on its own because you don't like taking antibiotics, request Macrobid from the doctor. Macrobid is only used for urinary tract infections because the antibiotic is not absorbed into the body's tissues and ends up almost exclusively in the urine (an environment that's supposed to be sterile anyways), so it won't mess up the microflora elsewhere in your body.

See a Doctor ASAP....these little bugs can only multiply and cause more discomfort. You can get a prescription that will give amazingly fast relief. Try and avoid circumstances that may reinfect this area, for example, anything which moves anal bacteria forwards. Best wishes

If it's hanging on you might have too many bacteria in your urinary track for the home remedies to work. If it doesn't clear up soon you really should go to the doctor to get some antibiotics.

You should be on antibiotics and it usually takes about a week to clear up.
