smtp not found. That's the server that receives your e-mail. It's either not reachable or incorrectly specified. Consult your isp, or try their webmail interface (almost everyone has one).

Some people in this tread has very strange experiance. SMTP error could only be the out-going server that your computer can not reach. It could be the firewall in your computer or the SMTP server is down. Probably the server is down. Call the internet service provider and ask them if the server is down, if not you have to check your computer, check the settings in the e-mail software.

there could be a number of problems, but a bad connection , this will slow down the flow of data, even to the point of lossing one bit of information drom an email address.

Example: you are sending pics , toi Denver CO, your in Brownsville TX, the transmission goes through Amirallo TX, but Ama- has just had a major icestorm, then it has to come back and then go to EL Paso TX, then over to Las Vegas NV, but all of NewMexico is having major weather trouble, so it goes to Dallas TX (all of this can happen very fast , but with all the shuffling around somethings can get misplaced.
