Back in the 1950s, there was a law in a Mississippi town that ordained that the river running through the town center could not rise above the level of the bridge that spanned it. I can't remember when, but a year or two after it was passed the river flooded and destroyed the bridge. Poetic justice, that.

Of course, there are a whole slew of other laws I could choose from... Let's not go out on a limb here and say the Social Security Act or the Sherman Antitrust Act; those two alone likely caused more damage to the economy than any others I can think of.

By the way... Is it even possible to whistle underwater?!

Not sure about the daftest but the most dangerous is easily the Human Rights Act. Why in Gods holy name was it passed?

Labour passed a law some years ago - £5,000 fine if your kids don't go to school. NO-ONE has EVER been fined this. The average is £25!

Even then, most of the fines go unpaid.

law no wheels on public highway
this means no buggy's
no push bikes
no wheelchairs
on the public footpaths
it's still law tho
lol but not used that ofter
if it were how many mothers would be forced to carry the children and bags of shopping

well, i know of a state, not sure which one it was, that insisited that if a woman wants to drive a car, the man has to walk in front of the car waving a flag and blowing a horn! but there are a lot worse. that one's just stupid
