You say straight marriage isn't necessary because you say "Who cares about mongomamy, fidelity and stable relationships...they're soooo outdated and irrelevant" but then you're so hellbent on gay marriage rights. That's pretty hypocritical if you ask me. Explain your logic.

Actually, I think their argument is that the concept of straight marriage is no longer sacred to straight people because of the whole "divorce and cheating" tendency. Also, it could be argued that marriage as it is is outdated because it does not allow two people very much in love to marry each other because of their genders.

Maybe because a "civil union" is just people who want to live together today (but maybe not tomorrow). Gays exchange partners so often it can hardly be a marriage (a few exceptions, of course). If we legalize man/man and woman/woman marraiges, then will come 3 (or more) in a marriage. I've already heard this mentioned as it being legalized also. Who knows when man/animal marriages will be next then? It never ends as people are never satisfied with the normal. A straight "marriage" is a male/female union and should kids derive from that, they become a family. It began in the beginning of time and Liberals should not be allowed to change it now or in the future. Right is right, and wrong is still wrong.

Marriage is the term which means differently to different people residing in different cultures. And so are the outdated feelings. What you may feel outdated may not be actually outdated for those who feel they are so being 'Modern'. In fact any relationship should lead one life to Bliss. But Bliss doesn't mean they should not care for fidelity or Stable relationship. However, if any relationship needs to proceed from physical level to Emotional level. By that I mean both should understand each others needs (in both physical as well as Emotional terms) Then should understand each other through Intellectual terms. However, this now a days doesn't happen & thats where the Question of changing the partners arises. & to safe gaurd ourselves from hurting our EGO one uses this defence mechanism which normal people lebeled OUTDATED. however, straight marriages are also a part of the same mentioned above.

Im an old fashioned girl, but really, look at how our society has
Developed over the last 20 years...Straight Marraiage is "outdated"
so now Gay Marraige is Fashionable....
To me this is just dumb! At what point do we consider a family Unit, the foundation of society, as a fashion statement.
There is no logic in this!

Why do same sex couples want to be accepted by the same religon that rejects them? Yhey should do their own thing, that is recognised by the government. But even a commitment ceremony isn't enough- even though they would have the same rights as a straight married couple.
I don't understand how people think sometimes. Its all very messed up

In the Bible God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. If people of the same sex want to engage in sex practices with one another, I don't like it, but I respect their right to do it. But they are desecrating marriage by trying to get married. Holy matrimony is between a man and a woman. That's it.....end of discussion. Thank you for having the guts to bring up such a sensitive subject.

I understand your need to understand why people think the way they do but for your own piece of mind forget what they think and focus on what you feel and think because that's something no matter how hard they try to destroy, they can't because your thoughts will always remain your own. What they think isn't important if you are happy and the person you're with is happy. Politics loves to meddle in other peoples affairs.

Betty, you are right on target with your comments and I commend you. Nothing is more satisfying then a healthy, monogonous marriage; anything else goes against the laws of nature. As for infedelity, etc; our country is in a down-ward spiral influenced by the media,etc. The sad part is they are raising our next generation. God help us!

The institution of marriage has been destroyed by all the liberalism in our society. Our country was founded on God and here we are trying to take Him out of everything. No wonder we are in such bad shape!!! People don't you get it.? God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. If you look you will see His guidelines are for our benifit not His.
