Yes you can still conceive. You might start by *right now* getting a small calender that you just use to track your periods. That way you can figure out when ovulation occurs (that's the 24-hr time frame once a month that there is an egg available to be fertilized, and it generally occurs about 14 days from the first day of your period.)

There is also a test kit (just a few drops of urine) which will tell you when you are about to ovulate, so that you know to have sex during that 24 hour window for best chances. The one I know of is called "Ovu Test" but I'm sure there are many others....I'd buythe cheapest one, because the technology is the same. (And they are all overpriced!)

The other thing I want to say, is many times when a person has irregular periods it's because of poor nutrition or too much exercise. Be sure you don't fall into one of these categories or your body won't want to cooperate in making babies---too much stress!

Good luck. Having a baby is truly worth all of the time, money and aggravation that it can be for some of us to conceive.

First of all, I am right there with you. I've been diagnosed with endomitriosis and have already suffered a miscarriage by age 23. I am now 24 and my husband and I are still trying for a little one.

1. Definitely seek help from your doctor. And document as much as you can about your cycle.
2. Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and know what to document.
3. Get on a prenatal vitamin if you aren't on one already. It's good for you even if you're not planning on conceiving right now. It will at least prepare your body nutritionally in the mean time.

Be pro-active in your reproductive health. Especially at your age. Document now and start to really know your body so you won't have to go thru the heartache later of "starting from scratch." My husband and I started one year before we had originally planned to TTC and we do not for a second regret it. We were expecting bumps in the road and its, unfortunately, proved to be true. But I'm glad we had more time to work on getting pregnant rather than waiting and being even more frustrated than I already am.

Best of luck. I hope the doctor provides you with some answers.

it is very possible to conceive. My sister just had a baby and she would have a period for a month then not have a period for 6 months then she would have a period for a week and then the next month have a period. It is still very possible to get pregnant. I would suggest that you get an ovulation test and test yourself every day and when it says it is time then you try and conceive. Hang in there and all will turn out

If your periods are that irregular, definitely contact your gynocologist. He may put you on hormone pills that will regulate you. Also, he can do a check up. Do you have alot of cramping with and without your periods? Are your periods painful? If so, there may be further problems that you are not aware of. If I were you, I would schedule an appt asap to put my mind at ease. Good luck.

My first response would be to talk to your doctor. However, I know plenty of women who have irregular periods and have been able to conceive. My doctor advised me to eat right and exercise. This honestly helps to regulate your periods, it helped me. Once you begin a healthier lifestyle, everything will fall into place. Good Luck!!!

I have had irregular periods and was able to conceive. Just try to conceive when you are regular.

Talk to your doctor and maybe he/she can put you on birth control for a little while to regulate your period. And try taking your Basel body temperatures. This will show when you ovulate.

GOOD LUCK!!!!
