I'm going out to a dance as a girl on friday - but first I'm going to go to a beauty salon for nails, hair, etc. Would it bother you if you were there - I'm really nice person and I don't want to bother anyone. I'll be dressed in women's clothing (jeans, top, etc.) so I hope that it doesn't cause a scene. I just spoke w/the beauty shop and there great w/it - the lady who answered said that the girls there will love it. I'm so excited - but scared!

That's awesome that you really care about people that much. You might get a few double takes from people who aren't used to it, but for the most part, I really doubt it'll bother anyone. I was raised in a very conservative, Christian home and I still believe in most of what I was taught. So, if it wouldn't bother me, it won't bother (almost) anyone! If it really makes someone extremely uncomfortable, just write it off as someone who just needs to loosen up a little. You can't please everyone :-)

I think the beauty shop should be the least of your worries...
I think it is the general public that you should worry about.

I'm a 36 y/o married father of three... I'm pretty open minded! I wouldn't be offended, I would probably stick around to see the end result. About 11 yrs ago, I was going to a concert on Halloween night. I found out at the last minute that everyone in our group was dressing in costume. My girlfriend at the time was working in a up-beat salon, fortunately for the sake of Halloween there was a guy that worked with her that often dressed in drag. We were about the same size, well they did me up and I have to say, I was hot! Most everyone through out the evening did not know that I was a guy.

My son treated me to special services at the beauty shop for mother's day. He had his finger nails manicured, shave and lining as he waited for me. Men get serviced in beauty shops all the time where I am from (New Orleans). This is part of the culture here, especially during Mardi Gras and Halloween seasons when one is costumed.

That would be fine with me! Everyone is at the beauty shop for the same reason - to get made up and have a good time. And it sounds like the owner of the shop is going to welcome your business, regardless of your gender (which, I think, is just good business sense).

Have fun, and enjoy your party!

Sounds fun! And don't be worried - if the salon is ok w/it, what's the problem?

So....you're a guy? Well, I think women are much more tolerant of that kind of stuff then men are, so you should be fine.

I don't see the problem. It's kinda cool that you're going all out
