I want to bold in a ford 9" with posi and 456 a nice turbo 350 and a nice warmed over 350 small block. I can pull this off for around 4k and I should get to see the High12sec @105MPH. do you thing a camaro body in a good pic. Seem like everyong is racing G bodys and I think the camaro is way cooler...

It is always possible to build a low cost car. You just have to be patient enough to shop around for your parts instead of buying everything you see. With a little extra time looking around, you can find good deals on all of the parts you need and stay under 4K. I built a Chevy S-10 running 12.5's for under 2,000. It just took a year to finish building it because I was on such a tight budget. Good Luck.

I took a 1977 Nova put in a 300 dollar school bus motor. It was a 350 ci. Bolted on a set of 462 double hump heads I bought from a round tracker for 300 bucks. Added an eldebrock high rise, headers and a 150 hp nitrous unit. It had a turbo 350 tranny with a shift kit and a 411 posi rear end. (ten bolt)... Car ran 12.70s.

I think the F-body car is the way to go with a dragster. If you gut it out and build it right, with a good engine. The 350 is a good choice or a good stroker engine like a 383. I would also go with a fiber glass hood, lexan windows, remove the head lamps. They also make a fiberglass hatch with lexan glass that will take off about 100 lbs. Remember each 100 lbs you lose, you will knock off about .10 of a second off your time. Just go simple and old school and you can build a low budget dragster.

Slap that motor into either a Chevette or a geo tracker. The tracker is a little heavier but the fit is good. and it has full frame. and the tracker is readily available.
