Does this make it not really a FDC because its not cancelled the first day is it?

It is very unusual, it means that the cancellation was made the day before the stamps were issued (was someone being naughty). You could check with the Issuers, www.royalmail.com/stamps, they issue first day covers and may be able to explain. I wondered if it could be from some British dependancy which uses UK stamps and is in a time zone ahead of us. If it is a genuine mistake then you could have a more valuable item on your hands.

Hm Ive got at least two but don't know where to put my hands on them right now. If it is an Official PO FDI cancellation and the date is wrong then it is unusual and may be worth more. If it is an ordinary cancellation mark then it means somebody failed to do it properly for themselves and strictly speaking it is not a FDC merely a letter posted the day after that happens to have the coronation stamps on it. Interesting but not quite the collectors item intended!
