It's a charity organization that puts this together. It's very often given to disabled kids or children with special needs. Sometimes it's just a lucky draw that kids can enter. Imagine accompanying your soccer idol onto the field holding his hand before a big game. Must mean the world to most kids.
During World Cup 2006 in Germany, McDonald's organized this opportunity (which is why the kids uniforms were gold shirts with red shorts). If you get the opportunity, youtube "cheeky chelsea mascot" and you will hopefully get a video of a very cheeky kid- it's hilarious.

I think it is a symbol of sincerity and friendship. Football is a universal game. Everybody everywhere, regardless of their skin color, can play. Football is a great game, it can help to make peace. Football has a spirit of humanity.

Coz football player are acting like small kids...right? that;'s why adult are addicted to PSP winning eleven or FIFa 2007 soccer or manager game

some times they are doing it for charity and some of them win competitions
