The condition is spina bifida. Which is often cuased by a lack of folic acid in the mothers diet, but don't fret. If you are trying for a baby or have just learnt that you are pregnant you can take a folic acid supplement which is in a tablet form. You can buy it from chemists. The folic acid allows your body to re-create cells more fully and quickier, than if your count in your natural body is low, which is when spina bifida can happen. Cases are very few and far between.

Spina bifida cystica (myelomeningocele)
In this, the most serious form, the meningeal membranes that cover the spinal cord and part of the spinal cord protrude through a cleft, forming a sac or cyst, and are clearly visible. In developed countries, this opening is surgically repaired shortly after birth. Additionally, in the U.S. the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) is currently involved in a fetal intervention study. ([1]).
The sac or cyst not only contains tissue and cerebrospinal fluid but also nerves and part of the spinal cord. The spinal cord is damaged or not properly developed. As a result, there is usually some degree of paralysis and loss of sensation below the damaged vertebrae. The amount of disability depends very much on where the spina bifida is and the amount of nerve damage involved. Many children and adults with this condition experience problems with bowel and bladder control. In approximately 90% of the people with myelomeningocele, hydrocephalus—extra fluid in the ventricles of the brain—will also occur. The myelomeningocele tethers the Spinal chord to the Vertebral column. As the baby grows and the Vertebral column lengthens, the base of the brain is pulled down into the Foramen magnum causing an Arnold-Chiari malformation. This disrupts the flow of Cerebro-spinal fluid, resulting in hydrocephalus.
The highest incidence rates worldwide are found in parts of the British Isles, mainly Ireland and Wales, where 3-4 cases of myelomeningocele per 1000 population have been reported, along with more than 6 cases of anencephaly (both live births and stillbirths) per 1000 population. The reported overall incidence of myelomeningocele in the British Isles is 2-3.5 cases per 1000 births.

Spina Bifida is where the spinal chord can be wrapped around the spine or can even be present on the outside of the body depending on how severe the case is. Not sure if this is what you are looking for as it is a little more common here in the States.

I think you may mean spina bifida. It's a very serious condition, and depending on the severity of it, can lead to the baby being stillborn or dying soon after birth. It is often accompanied by hydrocephalus, or fluid on the brain. milder cases of spina bifida will survive and even learn to walk and be perfect in other ways.
The defect is largely preventable by taking folic acid tablets every day before you become pregnant, and continuing to take them for the first 16 weeks at least of pregnancy.

After 2 ultrasounds i imagine they are maximum ideal, I did an similar aspect. considering i grow to be farther alongside, my medical professional agenda me for a D&E, like a D&C, because at the same time as my body ultimately handed the child, it may well be fairly painful, and infections ought to take position if it did not bypass quickly sufficient. there is not any way of understanding at the same time as your body will bypass the child, they could wager through searching at you through u/s, i'd communicate including your medical professional and discover out his opinion in the next step. once again, i'm sorry on your difficulty, that is the more severe aspect to experience, and that i does no longer desire it upon anybody.
