My period was supposed to come last Friday. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday I had some VERY light brown spotting. Tuesday morning I took a pregnany test, which I thought was a really faint positive (maybe not). Last night my period started. What happened? Was I never pregnant in the first place?

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me last week. I was feeling some symptoms and took and early test which gave me a really faint line. I thought I was crazy so I had my husand look too and he saw it. I started spotting the day after my period was due and continued for three days. I kept taking a test every day but the line never got darker. After three days of spotting I got my full period and the test went back to having no line at all. I think what happened to me was called a chemical pregnancy. I think I actually conceived but didn't attach fully and it is expelled as a normal period. Now, this is not to say that this is what is going on with you. Some women have their peroids the whole time they are pregnant. I would take another test to see if there is still a line. If you are not satisfied with the results of your HPT you can always get a blood test which would tell you for sure. I hope that everthing works out for you! Good Luck

It could have been a false positive, were you taking any sort of medication?? Some medication can cause you to have a false positive..If you think or thought that you were pregnant and you started bleeding you should not be asking us here you should be asking your doctor because it could very well be a miscarriage and if it has not already been expelled from your body then you will probably need a d&c, and if you don't get one then you will be facing many more problems. Please go to your doctor just to make sure everything is fine...Also is the bleeding regular or more heavy then usual, do you have any pains accompanied by the bleeding? also check to see if your period stops or lasts longer than usual..

You could have been pregnant and had a really early miscarriage. It happens sometimes but usually we wouldn't even know and would just think it was a missed period. If your period stops then take another test in about a week just to be sure.

Implantation might have not worked very well and you had what is called a chemical pregnancy. You had just enough time for a little hormone to enter your body, but your body just didn't keep the pregnancy. It's very commone and most women have these without even knowing about it ~ thinking it's just a late period.
