My father has 2 PC towers that he'd like to use on one monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc. One tower is running Win XP and the other is running Win 98. What is the best way to accomplish this (without spending a bunch of money)? Any information will be greatly appreciated...

You will need a KVM switch with just 2 ports (one port for each machine).

You can purchase a small kvm (keyboard Video Mouse) switch which allows the use of a single monitor keyboard and mouse for two machines. Usually is fairly cheap around 30 to 50 dollars. These are made specifically for just that purpose. Here is one i found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817107702

the finest answer is a KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) change that could want to redirect your units to whichever tower you pick. once you've homestead windows professional or larger on the platforms, you may easily create a distant login to the old workstation from the hot one. the great thing about distant connection is that the old workstation should be on an identical community, yet no longer unavoidably interior of an identical room.
