I think it well worth the few extra dollars spent. Appearance wise, they are really sleek, I like the way they look.
I also believe they are much easier to use and to figure out how to do things if you are not completly computer-saavy. If you have used a PC before, a lot of the software comes in Mac versions--for example Microsoft Office. And if you have software where you absolutely need Windows, it is installable on the new Macs, but the Apple OS great, so if you don't have to do this, I wouldn't.
It also has several advantages. Catching a Mac virus is extremely rare. I've never met a Mac owner who has had one. The built in web cameras are definitely a plus, you have no need to buy a seperate one. And in the event you ever need to upgrade your operating system, it is simple and uncomplicated. I would highly recommend them.

It is worth investing in an apple laptop because they have fewer viruses, and a more reliable operating system. You can also install windows XP on it if you have programs that will only run on Windows, and runs windows at the same time as Mac OS X. This means you could use microsoft internet explorer at the same time you are using iMovie. They may be slightly mor expensive, but and apple laptop is a very good investment.

No it isn't. PC's a lot better and with the new windows vista, they are even more better than apple's.
If you want a future proof regular laptop, wait for a bit for the new generation graphics cards to come out. These will support the new directx 10 (directx is used by almost all multimedia applications) applications making sure that you'll be able to play the latest games in years to come.
Otherwise, if you just want to use it for normal use, there are plenty to cheaper regular laptops than apple laptops.

That depends on your personal needs. If you want something that's fun, reliable, and will get your job done, then you should. I recommend you get the MacBook 13" 2 gHz model. That's probably the best bang for your buck. Mac OS X is far ahead of Vista and XP, but if you're desperate, you can still run XP on your notebook. Good luck!

The Dell would probable be a greater valuable deal because it has greater memory and a speedier processor, and homestead windows is greater valuable for faculty paintings than mac as mac is now and back complicated and unsupported.

Yes it is. They are quality machines. AND, unless you abuse the laptop, they hold their value over time than any Windows o/s notebooks.
