I am a Catholic, and I usually vote Republican, mainly because I vote pro-choice. I do this of my own free will, because I think killing unborn children is more important that taxes, war, or health care. But anyway, I would probably find myself voting Democrat, if they could only get over the Abortion hurdle.

Apparently, Democrats think the choice of a woman to have sex is greater than the choice of a child to not be killed.

But if Guiliani runs, I don't think I could vote for him. I would probably go on to vote for a third party candidate. I know it would be "wasting my vote", but I would actually WANT a Democrat to beat Guiliani, so that the Republicans know to run a pro-life candidate from then on.

Would it be worth it? Should we let the Republican party lose to prove our point? Is it worth 4 years of -shudder- Hillary Clinton???

Obama wouldn't be much better. He supported a Resolution that would ban voting booths from asking for Identification. We know THAT would NEVER be abused (illegal immigrants, convicted felons, multiple voters...)

We will go back to the days where mobsters rounded up homeless people to vote 5 or six times. We ALL wish for those days again...

I don't think it is worth a wasted vote. There are many other issues involved, even if abortion is the most important to you.

And the Republicans won't be chastised in that way: they have always and will always run the candidate that they feel has the best chance of winning. If in 2012 its another Pro-Choice Candidate, then that will be the candidate.

Please don't waste your vote.

I am a Catholic and I vote liberal. Do I believe in abortion? No.

However, I do believe that making abortion illegal solves nothing, in fact can make matters worse. Why? Look at pre-Roe v Wade USA. Not exactly a pro-life utopia, wasn't it?

I believe the smart way to dramatically reduce abortions is by making them unnecessary. Abortions are the tragic result of social stigma and poverty, not something women do "for fun or convenience" as some absurd conservatives have dared suggest.

We can reduce abortions first by getting rid of the social taboos associated with single parenthood and secondly by promoting economic policies such as health care, work training, fair housing, child care programs, adoption assistance, public transportation and social help that allow the poor to get out of poverty and allow single mothers to work. That must be coupled with a strong education system that fosters a healthy middle class. Educated people with job security are much less likely to have abortions simply because they can afford to have a family.

In those areas, the Democrartic party is head and shoulders above the republicans and because of that, I believe that democrats help reduce abortions. But then again, I only need to see abortion statistics during the Clinton years to see how abortions in the USA declined by almost 40%.

Aloha.

I've resolved my Giulliana dilemma this way,
At this point in History the defeat of Islamic Terror is paramount. If America is overrun with suicide bombers nothing else will matter. Therefore My vote will go to whoever I feel takes the threat of terrorism most serious.
That being said, Abortion is still an abomination to God and to me. However I've come to the realization that Laws will never stop a Woman from murdering Her child. Only Spiritual Warfare can keep these Demons at bay.
Besides, this may sound coldhearted, but abit of forward thinking tells me that since the vast majority of those murdering their children under the quise of "Choice" are Liberals. Therefore what they are doing is eliminating the very voting public that it will take to keep the "Bloodbath" flowing.
If things continue as they are and the Liberal population decreases while the Right increases in numbers one could draw the conclusion that it will merely take time before we can finally absolve ourselves of this sin of Child Sacrifice from our land.

If faced with a pro abortion Democrat or a pro abortion Republican, I'll take the Republican. Voting for a third party will ensure the Democrats win.

NO, WE ALL DON'T wish for those days again.
I know I don't.
I am not Catholic but I AM A BELIEVER.
You say you are Catholic but you think that because others don't agree with your opinion of being against abortions they shouldn't have the right to choose to do that.
God gave us all the FREEDOM OF CHOICE.
That’s what voting is all about; the FREEDOM TO CHOOSE.
War and the reasons man goes to war; abortions, and homosexuality are issues that ONLY GOD ALMIGHTY can and will sort out.
You consider teaching' the Republican Party a lesson to run pro lifers in the future by CHOOSING to not vote Republican or as you put it 'waste' your vote on a third party candidate.
Even if it IS a waste, which I don't believe it to be for those who genuinely believe in the third party candidate, there is to me an unbelievable level of arrogance in you to think that taxes, war and health care have nothing to do with the killing of unborn children.
When that soldier, male or female is killed in battle, what do you think happens to the sperm and egg that their bodies carry?
When an individual dies because of lack of or inadequate health care, what do you think happens to their egg or sperm?
When a family can't afford health care or good food to keep them healthy because taxes leave them with very little cash flow...do you get the point yet?
And BTW, PRO-CHOICE and PRO-LIFE are two different CHOICES.
If you are pro-choice, you are FOR ABORTIONS.
If you are pro-life, you are AGAINST ABORTIONS.

I'm not happy with a Guilliani candiacy in view of his lack of prolife credentials but I think he would understand better than most the urgency of dealing with terrorism something none of the Democrats understand.

However I thought I was voting in a good prolife congress and the Republicans deceived me as a party. I am at a loss if someone of character and proven record does not come forth. I would seriously consider Newt Gingrich. He does have the conservative credentials.

Funny this is the one area I disagree the most strongly with republicans an.

If abortions are made illegal then they are just going to be preformed but not as safely.

If the status quo is maintained then nobody is going to force any pregnant woman they see into having an abortion.

I am just tired of all the busy-body laws that both sides are trying to get passed: Anti-smoking laws, seat belt laws, helmet laws, laws about insurance. Some people will not be happy until every aspect of our lives has a law to cover it.

Considering the damage that Hillary or any democrate would do to the US, I would vote for Rudy. Face it outside of the abortion issue which is a matter for the courts and not for any president we might elect, Rudy is a better deal for those of us that favor traditional values. Rudy is also more likely to appoint judges that would be open to over turning r v wade than Hillary or any of her ilk. So if in a fit of pik you deside to waste your vote on a third party candidate you in fact vote against that which you belive

You should vote for Rudy because if you are a Republican and you voted for someone from a minor party it is like you are throwing your vote away. For you Rudy is the lesser of two evils so he should win your vote.

OK so you might not get someone who is going to nominate a Supreme Court Justice who will finally overturn Roe, so you're considering voting for someone who will put an abortion clinic on every streetcorner? Are you out of your freaking MIND????
