Everyone hates the Utah Jazz, because they have a reputation of playing dirty. Both Malone and Stockton, two of their all time greats were both dirty players. They never won a championship, so people never had a chance to jump on their bandwagon. I also think they have a racist reputation for some reason, but I don't know why.

Who says that they hate Utah or the Utah Jazz. I do not know where you get your information. I for one and and I know that I am the only one love the Utah Jazz. I have talked to others and they also love the Jazz even if they live out those who do not live in the State of Utah. From watching the news and being to Jazz games i have seen the arena in which they play in sold out for many of games and a whole more to come. If you watch the Jazz play against other teams that there arena you will find Jazz fans there no matter if it is New York or Phoenix. Lots of people like them and they are a great team so don't pull them down. WAY TO GO UTAH JAZZ. By the way did i forget to mention that the State of UTAH IS GREAT ALSO.

I was a Jazz fan for what seems like forever, but this season has turned into a disaster, and until the problems are fixed, I'm among the Jazz haters. As for why, take your pick from the following.
1. Deron Williams (anything associated with Williams gets lumped into this category)
2. Jerry Sloan's treatment of AK-47 (anything associated with Paul Millsap gets lumped into this category, as Millsap has been the main beneficiary)
3. The inability (or unwillingness) of the Jazz to trade AK-47 (if Sloan and AK can't get along, get a deal done so everyone involved can move on)

It has something to do with them keeping the name "Jazz". It should be called the Utah Snow or something that brings to mind Utah.
It also has to do with the fact there are cities much larger than Salt Lake City who do not have an NBA team: Austin, Richmond, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Buffalo, Pittsburgh...
As for a specific player: I don't think many people like Carlos Boozer because he went to Duke and he has a severe case of acne.

Not everyone hates the Utah Jazz. I do, but that's mostly because I hate Utah, especially BYU. I guess the Jazz get alot of residual resentment for all the damn Mormons there. Why don't they call themselves the SLC Punks?

Because they invented F-L-O-P-P-I-N-G and they turned it into an art form.
Real basketball fans enjoy watching actual Basketball... NOT actors pretending to get fouled. If you even looked the wrong way at Jeff Hornacek or John Stockton they'd fall down on their backs quicker than a homecoming queen on Prom night!
