I agree. His bad playing didn't help, but the whole team was playing poorly and they all lost it together.

yes! if you say the defense was at fault who was it that got them in that postition? the chicago offense kept the defense on the feild way to much and they were still hanging in the game the whole time.
the bears were behind at the most by barely two scores who was holding them to that because it wasnt the offense

another point. those interceptions(one was a touchdown so you cant blame that on the defense) but the other one and all the other drives set the defense up in horrible position many times backed up in there own territory and many times they did hold them but unfourtuanutly already in feild goal range

another point grossmans throws that did get there? they were spectacular catches people really underate moose and bernard thats why grossman most of the times can just lob a ball up in the air and feel secure. but you cant do that against bob sanders which is why chicago lost

o yeh and the two straight fall downs after the snap?? i was like what the hell? and then i haven't even gone over the fumbles rex grossman cost the chicago bears a game were they had the game and the lead but he just could not control the ball or time of possession

No, it wasn't all his fault for losing the Super Bowl. Part of the blame has to rest with the other players of his team for not making any great plays & their poor performance which cost them the game. Rex Grossman shouldn't take blame on losing the biggest game of his career & he will learn from it the mistakes the team made along the way.

Grossman could of played better. Like everybody has been saying all year long, he had his good games but had more bad games. They went 13-3 sure, but it was the defense that got them to 13-3. Grossman is still a young QB and has been known to just throw it up to his WRs and hoping to draw the pass interference. I think that he was lucky in the regular season by doing that but he just could not convert or get anything going in the Super Bowl. Thats why they lost. This year was Peyton's year!!! I think he deserved it most!!!

He could have played better, but he didn't cost them the match for 2 reasons:

1) For most of the game, he was only given short passing routes in front of the Colts defense. The Bears should have been more adventurous - and used Jones more.

2) The Bears were surprisingly unable to stop the Colts running game. How many times did Addai and especially Rhodes make 3rd and long? Far too many. The pressure was off Manning and that's why the Colts won the game.

Yup, Grossman just looked terrible. Most of his stats were padded on the last drive. The Bear's coaching staff tried to protect Grossman by keeping the game plan shorter routes and rythm passing, but when they fell behind and he needed to make plays the whole world saw what happen. 2 INT's to seal the Bears fate!

Its hard to pinpoint just one person for losing the super bowl, but Rex came damn close....I'm a huge bears fan and grossman fan, but enough is enough. the guy threw 2 key interceptions, one leading to a touchdown. they were badly thrown passes...my little sister could have intercepted some of those balls. he got under pressure and folded, you will never win unless your quarterback can make plays under pressure, hell the super bowl is one big pressure game.....now in defense of grossman, the defense played bad...they couldn't tackle worth crap and i didn't see any drive....its really to bad....but i call for a new QB in Chi town

Not really,he was only the armpit of a stinking Bears team, other than the starting kickoff for a touchdown, the Bears defense showed they couldn't stop the run or the pass, and the offense couldn't move even if they have had the Mayflower Moving Company

No, It wasn't the greatest to have bad rex show up for the superbowl especially when they needed him to atleast keep their defense off the field for as long as possible. But a combination of rain, and a tired defense wearing them down and keeping them tired in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Yes and no. Yes because he had some crucial turnovers. No because he wasn't the one making the play calls. Everyone is sooo quick to blame the qb. Noone takes into account play calling and coaching.
