The reason I think that most people want parts of the past back is because we all make mistakes, use our life in a wasted manner, and would like to take the experience from the present and apply it just one more time to the past.
But. as in life there is no way to go back, we cannot even go into the future, we only have the present and that is where we must take what we know from the past and make our present all that it can be, so as we go through our tomorrows we will have less and less regrets and find that our life is full and blessed to the ream.

Of course I do! I'm 56. Live another 20 years & then ask for 20 years back.

Not at all. I would not want to go through all of the things of life again (once was enough), especially the hard times. When you are very young you are usually insecure, unsure of yourself, and really haven't yet found yourself. When you become much older, then life really gets worth living. Of course, younger people think those who say that are crazy...until that is, they too are much older.

yeah i feel that way all the time. if i could get the past 20 years back i would do things totally different.
