i am 19 weeks with my second, and too me i am pretty big already, but sooo many people have come to me and said you arent that big for being almost 5 months and today a lady asked me if i was sure the baby is growing, i have had plenty of ultrasounds because i have an incompitent cervix and i feel the baby moving and kicking but the doctor has never actually told me if the baby is good size or not. so now of course i am freaking out, i have a doctors appointment tomorrow and i can ask becuase it is my 20 week (a few days early) ultrasound, but now i am VERY nervous, i mean the lady that asked today was older and has had kids of her own and she said since it is my second and because i am so tiny (4 11 100 lbs) i should be showing ALOT more.
anyone else go through that and did everything turn out ok. or anyone have any advice, i'm scared now! :(

I think you are worried for nothing, and i also think you should let your doctor know you are worried when you go for your visit tomorrow. That way he or she can let you know exactly how you are doing and how the baby is growing. Every pregnancy is different, for every woma, every time.
Oh and by the way, that lady doesn't know anything about you and should be smacked up side the head for making you worry so much. I am sure if there were any concerns your doctor would have mentioned them to you.
Always be sure to let your doctor know of any questions or concerns you have, don't' worry about him or her being too busy to talk to you. that's what they are there for.
Hope you have a beautiful baby who sleeps through the night for you ! :)

Don't listen to people, that is so rude and inconsiderate to tell you how big you should be. Everyone is different.
Listen request an ultrasound and say you want a print out of the measurements and the percentiles of each body part, I got that done because I too was worried. But keep in mind if the doctors haven't said anything then you're child is probably average size. If you look on http://pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blweek19.htm,
it will tell you that your baby should only be 1/2 lb right now! So whoever says anything to you just say that the baby is only about half a pound, how freakin big do you want me to be!?

The closer you are to underweight the less you show earlier in pregnancy.
Relax - if the baby is moving and kicking, and the doctor has not said there is anything to worry about, then don't worry.
A friend of mine and I were pregnant at the same time. I am 5'10" and was 180lb when I conceived. She is 5'6" and around 130. When we were both about a month away from delivery I was HUGE - I could not close the refrigerator door without slamming it into my belly. She was normal size. At delivery time she was the size I had been at 6 months! We both had normal healthy babies. Hers was 8lb2oz - 20" Mine was 9lb12oz and 22".
Don't worry - you'll be fine and congratulations

Every woman is different as is every baby. Some women hardly show at all, and some look so big that you'd swear that they were having quintuplets. If your doctor hasn't said that your baby looks small, then I'm sure that everything is okay! Just make sure and ask her tomorrow.
People love giving ideas and thoughts to pregnant women. And sometimes they don't think about what they are saying. They don't realize that it makes the women uncomfortable or nervous. Just ignore them. If you have any questions definitely bring it up to your doctor.

everyone shows differently. this is my first pregnancy and i was hardly showing by five months but now i'm about six and its obvious now. i'm very relieved about it. it is possible for the baby to be the right size but you not look big. there is a lady i work with about 5'4 and very tiny boned and she told me that the way i was showing at 5 months was how she looked at 9 months with her first. i wouldnt be worried.
while you are at your ultrasound appointment, ask the technician what he is measuring and how he/she can tell if the baby is the right size and they should be able to tell you ( mine did an dhe was VERY helpful. made me feel so much better about the size and health of the baby). I think you will find this very reassuring

As long as your doctor isn't concerned about your health or the babies health...as long as you feel movement and they have a normal heart beat when you go in for your exams, then your size, whether some stranger on the street thinks your "TOO BIG or TOO SMALL" is of none of their concern.
Babies grow at their own rate and it maybe laying so that you dont show alot out in front yet. And you are tiny, so your baby maybe small as well, again nothing to worry about if its healthy.

put ear plugs in your ear when it comes to others diagnosing your pregnancy. advice is nice sometimes but if your doctor says the baby is fine and is growing on target then don't worry. and your size has nothing to do with it. every uterus is shaped differntly and of course your body type. i'm 5'2, 134 with my second and different people say that i'm big and some say that I'm small... I don't listen cause I know that my baby is growing just fine. Try not to worry, as long as you're feeling your baby kicking you should be just fine. You see your doctor tomorrow so please! ask him if you should be worried or not. Good luck and best wishes!

Everyone shows differently. Don't stress. If there was a problem your doc would have said something. Your baby is moving and kicking so that means he/se is good and healthy.
My advice to you is to sit down and make a list of all your questions and concerns and take it to the docs with you tomorrow. Lord knows, we always walk out of the docs thinking "Dang! I forgot to ask _____"
People say the dumbest things to pregant women... One lady at work loved to tell me horrible birthing stories when I was pregnant. How rude!

Every woman is different with each pregnancy. I know several women who didn't show at all or didn't show until the 8th month and even then they were maybe 115 lbs but several inches taller than you. don't worry - you can feel the baby being active that's all that matters right now and you can have the doctor waylaid your fears tomorrow.
congratulations.

Do not let other women judge what is normal for YOU. If there was something wrong, I am fairly confident that your doctor would have brought it to your attention by now.
If it's any consolation, with my first, you couldn't even TELL I was pregnant until I was eight months along.
What is normal for that woman obviously isn't normal for you. Don't stress unless your doctor says that there is a reason for it (which I doubt there will be).
