The 8 x 10 is standard, which you have already told by others. However, do not stop with a Head Shot on one side. Have a composite ot the other side of the sheet with some vitals--height, weight, age range, etc. 100 is a good start.

8 x 10 is still the standard. Lots of actors, however, like to have postcard-sized photos to mail out (they're particularly useful to send to casting people AFTER you've auditioned for them), and even to have a photo on their business cards.
As for how many...that has to do with whether you're distributing them yourself, of if you have an agent or manager submitting them for you. In the latter case, you'll need lots more, and your agent/manager should be advising you periodically about how many they'll need.

Ask your actor friends, photos should be in glossy or matt finish. It is not the same in each city. You must find out which is preferred where you live and work. If you are in an acting class, other students can show you what is used in your city.

8x10 and I would order them maybe 100 at a time you usually need one for each audition you go to
