Have any of you out there been really upset cos you have gone
to work listening to the others going on about what their
partners have bought or done for them and yours never
bothers?

Sorry - I must have mislead you.
I myself wasn,t forgot. But I just
wondered if your partner was the
type that did not believe and perhaps you
had to go to work listening to others
going on about what they had been
given.

My mate didn't get his wife ANYTHING except he installed a new sink and cabinet in the loo. Cost about 600!!! He told her to pick out what she wanted.
So she was happy.
My brother and his wife were totally skint, so they talked it over and agreed that their love is enough, they will do something when they have a bit of extra.
I imagine it is a lot about communication.
I am single right now and probably will stay that way until out of graduate course at uni. Unless I find a wonderful lady who will put up with my odd hours!
I hope everyone had a happy V day. I bought things for elderly friends, socialized with mates and dropped in on brother and wife. So I do not think I missed out!!!

Mine didnt even bother saying happy valentine's day
We talked over the phone during the day few times and he did not say anything. He never does about any holiday so I'm kind of use to that but still makes me think.
I send him his gift and he called later to say thank you but that was it.

Once it did happen to me with a guy I was dating .I noticed he never bothered with anything, no birthdays, no Christmas , no valentines. till I finally decided to tell him but he said that is just how I am. so I decided if he can't remember the important days then I am not important to him. needless to say he is not the not I stood with good luck girl.

Its only one day... Valentines day shouldnt be a day to show how much you care and love each other you should show/tell each other everyday! So dont get upset about it.

well, you aren't married are you?
Anyway, maybe your partner comes from a culture where Valentine's is not celebrated.
My late wife came from a country where Valentine's is not celebrated.
