You have to use a second form of birth control (condoms) the first month that you take the pill. Both your doctor and pharmacist should have told you that. You're probably not pregnant, but go to a pharmacist and learn how to take your prescription CORRECTLY.

I was on Ortho TRi Lo for several years. The good thing about that particular brand is that it's a combination pill, which means it's made with synthetic estrogen and progesterone - it prevents ovulation. While there are certain pills (read: mini-pill) that REQUIRE that you take them at the exact same time every day to be effective, the combination pill is not one of them. They simply tell you to take it the same time every day so you will be more likely to remember to take it at all! If you still have it, read your instruction pack that came with your pills this month - it will detail what to do based on what color the pill was, white, light blue, dark blue or green. Most likely you are NOT pregnant, but as an aside, please be careful! I know it's your life, but 16 is awfully young to have a baby! I'm in my twenties now with a 3 month old, and while he is the center of my world, there are sooo many things I wish I could have done before my son came! Enjoy your youth - it goes WAY too fast!!

my dear, they tell you to take the pill at the same time very day for a reason!!! the longer between you taking the pill, the less effective it is!!! you're not supposed to take outside the hour of you normally take it.. for example, i normally take my pill at 6 pm. i can take any time until 7 pm if i miss 6, and still have it be about as effective if i'd taken it right at 6. now, four hours is a little late. however, if you just ended your period on firday morning, if you know anything about the chart for ovulation, you should, theoretically speaking, be ok. but if you're worried, go to the clinic and ask for the morning after pill, wich can work up to 72 hours after having unprotected sex. if that doesn't help you any, next remember to use a condom as well as your pill, especially if you aren't going to take the pill as directed. which measn the same time every day, even friday, saturday and sunday!!

No you probably arent pregnant but I would be very careful if I were you. Try and take your pill at the same time every day and if you can't keep up on the weekends you can take it up to 2 hours late...but stay within that boundary.

Also since you are so young and are not looking to have a baby anytime soon, please protect yourself and use a condom. Remember birth control pills dont protect you against Aids and other STDs...and you deffinetly don't want that!
