Believe it or not those ads to make an impact on peoples lives whethers its hyst a few or thousands... You cant stop every single person with an ad but if it stops some people a difference is made

STUPIDITY!
The feeling that they are invulnerable.
Belief that they know better than the millions of people who have already learned the valuable lesson.
The bravado that comes with a few alcoholic drinks.
Pride: too proud to ask for a ride or a designated driver.
But, the main one is still STUPIDITY!
Perhaps if the punishments were harsher, the stupidity would, at least, slow down.

Well, when people are drunk they aren't thinking clearly. For example, when ever I had a couple of drinks then I felt as if I could handle driving. So yes, I have driven drunk and I'm glad I never got caught or in an accident. I think the best solution is to have a designated driver.

I got busted when I was 19 in spite of all that you mentioned. I think I used to drink and drive because I thought I was ok to drive. I would say to myself, "I'll just drink a couple, I'll be fine". I would end up drunk and thinking I was ok to drive.
It was hard for me to go to a bar without driving because the bars were all far away. And being 19, I wasn't going to let that stop me. There was no way in calling a taxi to pick me up and take to the bar and back home. That's expensive. I would rather risk it. Kind of like when people risk driving without insurance.

Honestly because I think people always assume that bad things and a DWI will happen to someone else. Even when they know that its possible they tend to think that they are better than that and that theyve been this way before and made it home 1000 times. Coming from someone who totaled their truck 3 years ago and got a DWI and just got off probation, $23000 later from court fees and the loss of my vehicle I know that it can happen to anyone and I had all the same thoughts before it happened to me.
