Tell them you have a 'weakness' (fondness) for sleeping indoors, eating hot food, wearing nice clean clothes, paying your bills and keeping yourself healthy!

(What a thing?)

Ah yes, the annoying but classic interview question. On the surface this question seems like it's probing to see how honest you are, but it's really all about knowing how to take lemons, make lemonade, and hand your interviewer a straw. It's all about the sugar.

Here's how you add that sugar. Take things that are strengths and then work your answer so they sound like you are answering the question and giving weaknesses, but really you are using the opportunity to tout your good points.

My standard ones are ...

I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I can go a little overboard sometimes. I will put in that extra time just to make sure what I'm doing gets done right.

I can be a little paranoid about the end quality of the work. I like to check and double check to make sure that everything is the way it should be.

I can be stubbornly persistent. I keep at something until the job is complete.

--If you are interviewing to be a manager or supervisor--
(I think someone else may have said this one all ready.)

Sometimes I need to delegate a little more, I like to be on top of the work and even when I delegate tasks I still remain very involved to make sure everything is going the way it should.

There are probably many more you can come up with along these lines, take a good point and twist it around.

Good luck and remember, you're good at you do, and you can and will get that job!

I have been asked this in almost every interview I've been in. I sometimes smile and joke "How much time do you have?".They seem to like that you know you have weaknesses like everyone else in the world. But you are confident enough in yourself to talk about them and that you are working on them. Never say you don't really know of any. Everyone has them.

It really works if you take something that could be a positive AND a negative. I have used perfectionism - everything I do has to be done right or I don't feel comfortable turning it in. I explain that while this may seem like a positive trait, it sometimes gets in the way when there is a tight deadline and they just want a "rough draft". But you absolutely understand the importance of a deadline, so you are learning to live with it.

Just find something about you that is positive and turn it a little negative. Maybe your tolerance level with lazy people? Maybe your organizational skills? Or maybe you are bothered with gossipers? Just find a positive and turn in slightly negative. It works every time. Good luck!

Be honest, but at the same time - tell them what you are doing to work on that weakness on a daily basis.

For example - my weakness, which is basically time management, I carry around a planner with everything that I'll do for that week down to the very hour on hour basis. So that way, when they ask me "what's your weakness?" I'll say well, for the most part, its time management, but that's why I use this. (then i pull out the planner!)

Basically, the trick is making your weakness look positive.

Good luck.

It really depends on what job you are interviewing for.

Never say, I am occasionally late, or I tend to get frustrated...

Say something like, "I am a work-o-holic" or "Or I am obsessest with doing things the right way the first time", or "I am overly organized and pay too much attentionto detail".

Basiclly all you have to do is take a job's strength and turn it into an obbsession....and that is your weakness.

Well, what are your weaknesses? Do you interview well? Not a strong communicator? Tell them the truth!

I would answer with something that I "think" is a negative thing when in fact to them, it could be a positive thing; for example: saying your weakness is being a workaholic..... explaining that you love what you do and you can get really focused. They may perceive that as one quality they want in an employee.

If you are a female and the interviewer is a male just tell him your biggest weakness is being extremely attracted to men who conduct interviews. Then watch him wiggle in his seat.

If the position you are applying for is not a supervisor or management position, say you have trouble deligating work. Say you have trouble giving your work to someone else to do because you feel more comfortable doing it all yourself. good luck!
PS. don't listen to the answer above. You gotta lie on an interview.
