I have already been in touch with Sask. learning and because I have a 3 year BA in English and then a one year Postgraduate Certificate in secondary Education I can't teach get a Professional A Certificate. Is there any other way of teaching? A provisional certificate? Please help. I love teaching and am so desperate to teach over here.

In the US, sometimes private schools will hire teachers who don't fully qualify for positions in the public schools. I know my daughter's choir teacher at her private school couldn't be hired by a public school, because he didn't have the correct certification, but her school hired him as the schools music director. He has a BFA in vocal performance and a MFA in choral conducting, he just doesn't have the teaching credential. He's a great teacher though, I'm glad they have him!!!

Contact either the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation or the provincial Department of Education (via www.gov.sk.ca).

Have you checked with the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation? They might be able to provide you with some direction.
