I have done some research into this before and I'm pretty sure there are no advantages.
The disadvantages are massive. Not just loss of feeling, but possible infection, disfigurement etc.

1. "female circumcision" is an inappropriate name. "female genital mutilation" is much more accurate
2. advantages for the woman: none. advantages for her husband: "control"
3. disadvantages for the woman: countless, i can't even begin to list them. namely, loss of the most sensitive/pleasurable organ on her body, and inability to fully experience sexuality.

The only "advantage" within a Male dominated society is that the woman will experience no pleasure at all from intercourse. The disadvantages? Too numerous to list. It's an inhumane, obscene practise.

No advantages. Disadvantages - being mutilated, pain, never being able to have an orgasm as you have no clitoris.
