What it takes to convert liberal into conservative?

Question

A lot of liberal college students became more conservative, if they manage to get a well paid job (Sometime aftar grad/law school).

But lets say a 30-35 y/o liberal. Is it a hopeless case?>/.q

Pretty much so. By that age they are so corrupted with the lies and idiotic theorys many are beyond help. It can be done, but it is a lot of hard work. They are typically in denial, refuse to embrace common sense, refuse to believe the truth even when presented with solid evidence, something Liberals never do, and they generally are not too bright to begin with. Keep on plugging at it, the more we convert the longer the planet, morals, and common sense survives.

I used to be a Republican - like six years ago. But not any more after watching George Bush and his cronies flush this country - and the rest of the world as well - straight down the toilet. We're in a quagmire in Iraq, we've got 47 million without health insurance, global warming, a major city nearly destroyed and an incompetent government response, and I could go on. We've got a Republican party so full of hypocrites (like Rush), liars, and crooks (DeLay, Foley, etc) that I couldn't hold my nose any more and vote Republican.

Well, usually when liberals get older and start maturing and opening their eyes to other things life has to offer, is when they start becoming more Conservative. Now if they are 30-35 years old and are still Liberal, then chances are, they are very immature and will probably never grow out of it.

If Conservatives were like they used to be then I would be a conservative. I definitely believe in less, less, less Federal Government control and more more more State control.
I believe in fical responsibility and keeping a balanced budget and the national debt to zero.
but
I do not believe in killing to get control over oil wells and make more money for the wealthies.
I do not believe in taking care of those that can take care of themselves but I do believe in helping those that have no other good options. I do not believe in Churches taking the place of welfare in our Government. Churches will only give to others things they do not want.
I do not blindly trust our elected officials. I want the right to dissent and think for myself.

No, it isn't an impossible task. Just remove their brains and install a special microchip that is programmed by the GOP. This microchip will ensure that the former liberal marches in lockstep, spews tired Bush quotes in any political debate ("We must stay the course"), and has no compassion for any individual not in the upper 50% income bracket. The microchip will also prevent anything like independent thought.

I know one guy who WAS a real liberal, then his new car was stolen. All of a sudden he wanted the police to do something about throwing thieves in jail forever.

Liberals change to conservatives all the time but you seldom hear of the reverse happening. I guess it's because once you have really had your eyes opened to the real world it's almost impossible to go back to la-la land.

It's been said that a young person who isn't liberal has no heart, and a seasoned citizen who isn't conservative has no brain.

The bigger question is: why would you want to?
People should live and let live. Stop trying to brainwash people into believing "your" truth. America is about democracy and freedom of thought, not fascism and oppression.
