so every one agrees like me that the first one was waaayyy better than the second and second was Boring

The first was by far the better of the two films. It had a beginning, a middle and an end. It had continuity and a plot that made some sense in a fantasy sort of way. POTC2 SUCKED! To put it bluntly. I hope 3 will make up for the lack of real thought that went into 2.

That's not really a fair question. POTC2 suffers from being the middle chapter of a trilogy. The story isn't brand-new **and** it doesn't get resolved. It's kind of like how The Empire Strikes Back was the least fun to watch of the Star Wars original trilogy, even though from an artistic perspective it's the best-done of the three.
More fair would be to wait and see POTC3, then consider the three Pirates movies as one story and see how the whole thing plays. Kind of like with the Matrix movies ... at first I thought the second one was a stinker, but I held off making a judgement until I saw the third one. And as it turned out, my initial impression was spot-on correct. I'm hoping for MUCH better from POTC3, but we'll have to wait and see.

I felt like with the second film they repeted the first in tone and quality, merely amping up the action sequences and I suspect that the third will be basically the same. I doubt they can increase the action too much more without totally losing it, so I would guess that it will be closer to the second film than the first.

POTC 1 was definately without a doubt MUCH better than the second. the second was just kind of dull and boring, but it was just ok...i hope the 3rd is like the first!

I can't choose between the two. I didn't think that the second one was boring, though. I do think that the third one will be as awesome as the first two.

I liked the 1st and the 2nd ok. I would hope that the 3rd would be even better. If not, then it was a waste to build up for something and then it flop. I have seen it happen b4.

one was much better than the second. they left the second one way too open at the end. i'm hoping the 3rd one will be good, i doubt it will better than the first one though.

I absolutely loved BOTH one and two, and can't wait for #3!
I think that Captain Jack Sparrow is one of Johnny Depps' best characters yet, and he has played sooooo many diverse characters and done an awesome job at every one that I have seen! (And for the record I am not a "OOOHH, Johnny Depp, I LOOOOVE him!" fan. I do respect his talent)

Number 1....2 was just a filler to get to the third movie, it was so boring.
